About AquaTankGear

AquaTankGear started as a set of notes scribbled on the side of a 40-gallon planted tank and grew into a small library of practical, no-nonsense guides for freshwater aquarium keepers. We are not interested in chasing trends or selling you gear you do not need — every guide here is built around the same question: what actually works, tank after tank, for people who just want healthy fish and plants without a chemistry degree.

The site covers the whole hobby, from picking your first fish and cycling a new tank, to choosing CO2 equipment and troubleshooting stubborn algae. Articles are written to be read once and used for years, with an emphasis on real numbers, real trade-offs, and honest pros and cons rather than blanket recommendations.
